Who Rachel is

Rachel Iverson lives in Malibu with her husband, son and daughter. She earned a BA in English literature and journalism from Valparaiso University and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota. Her poems and prose have appeared in print and online publications, including Illume, a Journal of Universal Ideas, Books AND Babies, Writing about Motherhood, Onthebus, The Philosophical Mother, edifice WRECKED and The MFC Forum Magazine. She is also the author of two chapbooks of poetry, Glimpse Over the Edge (2002) and Mother & Other (2003). Rachel serves as the poetry editor and a monthly columnist for Literary Mama, an online literary journal. She is a member of the Los Angeles Poets and Writers Collective and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She has studied writing with Ann Whitford Paul, Rachel Resnick, Connie Josefs and Jack Grapes. She is currently at work on a series of chapter books for young readers and a collection of short stories.
